Thank you for participating in the Board Engagement Scorecard provided by Gray Breakthroughs. The purpose of this assessment is to help organizations better understand board engagement, governance effectiveness, communication practices, and organizational alignment through the lens of the Gray Breakthroughs 4C Framework for Board Engagement.
By participating in this assessment, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.
Purpose of the Assessment
The Board Engagement Scorecard is intended as an educational, strategic, and organizational development tool designed to:
identify patterns and opportunities related to board engagement,
support healthy governance conversations,
provide benchmarking and organizational insight,
and help organizations strengthen board leadership and effectiveness.
The scorecard is not intended to provide legal, financial, employment, or regulatory advice.
Confidentiality of Responses
Gray Breakthroughs will make reasonable efforts to maintain the confidentiality of participant responses.
Unless otherwise communicated in writing:
Individual survey responses will not be publicly disclosed.
Reports are generally presented in aggregated or summarized formats.
Findings may be shared with organizational leadership, board leadership, or designated representatives as part of the engagement.
Open-ended comments may be included in reports in anonymous form unless identifying information is voluntarily included by the respondent.
Participants are encouraged to provide honest and constructive feedback.
Organizational Reporting
Organizations engaging in the Board Engagement Scorecard process understand and acknowledge that:
assessment findings are intended to support organizational reflection and strategic discussion,
results may identify differing perceptions among board members and leadership,
and the assessment is one data point among many organizational considerations.
Gray Breakthroughs does not guarantee specific governance, fundraising, leadership, cultural, or operational outcomes resulting from participation.
Use of Aggregated & Anonymized Data
Gray Breakthroughs may use anonymized and aggregated assessment data for:
benchmarking,
research,
educational content,
speaking engagements,
publications,
thought leadership,
service improvement,
and future product development.
No individual participant or organization will be publicly identified without explicit written permission.
Participant Responsibility
Participants agree to:
provide responses honestly and thoughtfully,
refrain from including confidential personal information unrelated to the assessment,
and engage respectfully in any related discussions or follow-up activities.
Data Storage & Security
Gray Breakthroughs uses commercially reasonable safeguards to protect assessment information and associated records.
However, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security, and participants acknowledge the inherent risks associated with online data transmission and storage.
Voluntary Participation
Participation in the Board Engagement Scorecard is voluntary unless otherwise required by the participating organization.
Participants may choose to skip questions or discontinue participation at any time unless participation requirements have been established by the organization administering the assessment.
